Michael and Laura // Wedding
When Laura first reached out to me she mentioned the word community twice in her inquiry. Her and Mike reserved YMCA’s Camp Pinewood for an entire weekend so their friends and family could come to eat, drink, and be merry all together. The rehearsal day consisted of lunch cooked and served by the wedding party, a field day coached by Mike and Laura, and the night ended with a talent show and pizza.
On their wedding day guests were still piling in throughout the afternoon, then with hands shielding their eyes they walked towards the lake to take in the camp’s beauty. Meanwhile roars of laughter were heard from the girl’s cabin where bouquets were being assembled, toes were being painted, and selfies were not scarce. After Laura handed out matching friendship bracelets to everyone she made her way to see Michael. When he turned around to see her he immediately hugged her and didn’t want to let her go. Their friends and family were continuously hugging and complimenting each other at every pass. During their ceremony close friends and family gave their rendition of the 7 Jewish blessings, as Mike and Laura held hands. The night led to many cheers, bare-feet, interesting dance moves, and pie.
Mike and Laura’s weekend had successfully executed a community of people looking to have fun and celebrate love.
